I'm Tania Azzar, I live and work in a small atelier by the sea on the Ionian coast, in Bocale (RC).

I make art to capture fleeting moments of existence, I constantly manipulate different materials, such as clay to shape female bodies or faces, oil to paint figures, landscapes or abstractions, watercolor and Indian ink to stop sketches during my walks. I love forging copper, to give life to ancestral jewels, tools for working wood to create the reality around me, and so on and so forth, put it in constant experimentation with myself and with my surroundings to get to touch the deepest meaning of things.

I am self-taught, mine is a work of dialogue with the material to be manipulated to make it closer to what my sensitivity feels similar to itself, in an incessant obsessive search for balance and harmony. I transform reality to make it mine, drawing on a sacred creative energy in a spontaneous and fluid way.

Art in its various articulations has shown me the meaning, supporting me even in the moments in which the meaning was not there and is, for this reason, the salt of my life.

I have a background in Psychology, and I strongly believe in the cathartic power of art forms.
