Sylvia Mota is a contemporary award-winning French artist. The human body, which is closely related to affect and drive, is her favorite topic. Mota creates her scenographies in an architectural style that is close to the frequently utilized golden rule, drawing inspiration from philosophers and ancient builders.
The abstract and the figurative, the line and the material, are all ways to express emotions through gesture and action. The gesture that starts outside the canvas, crosses it, leaving its mark there so that nothing is removed, and then expands into space with the sense of infinity is what the artist seeks.
