In "The Essence of Pomegranate," the artist masterfully captures the vibrancy and complexity of this ancient fruit, infusing the canvas with rich textures and vivid colors. The central figure of the pomegranate, rendered in deep reds and adorned with intricate patterns, stands out against a backdrop of abstract motifs. These motifs, painted in soft hues of turquoise, lavender, and amber, create a dynamic contrast that brings the composition to life.

The pomegranate itself is depicted with a sense of realism that is both striking and evocative, its surface teeming with a mosaic of colors and textures that suggest the fruit's inner vitality. The artist's use of bold, expressive brushstrokes adds a tactile quality to the piece, inviting viewers to explore the layers of paint and the stories they tell.

This painting is a celebration of nature's bounty and a testament to the artist's skill in blending realism with abstraction. It invites the viewer to contemplate the beauty and symbolism of the pomegranate, a fruit that has been revered throughout history for its richness and fertility. "The Essence of Pomegranate" is not just a visual feast but a sensory experience that engages the mind and the soul.

Svetlana Chertova was born in 1985 in Almaty. As a child, she lived in Cuba for several years, which is partly due to my love for color and light.

The artist received three higher educations, one of which was from the Moscow State Institute of Culture and Arts.

She worked as a personal stylist for more than ten years and taught color to stylists for about five years, presenting it as an art, emphasizing the meaning, and teaching her to understand the work of great couturiers.

At some point, the successful stylist and teacher realized that stylization no longer accommodates the amount of creativity that she lets through herself. And Svetlana went to study painting, entering the workshop of the academic artist, Gulmira Myatova.

Svetlana Chertova was greatly influenced by Pierre Bonnard, Arkhip Kuindzhi, Edouard Vuillard, Philip Malyavin, Erte, Lev Bakst, Tamara Lempicka, Emil Nolde - classics; as well as Armando Marinho, Zorikto, Andrey Remnev, David Hockney, Njideka Akunyili Crosby. The development of Svetlana’s artistic language and painting technique was influenced by fashion couturiers and fashion designers: Christian Lacroix, Yves Saint Laurent, John Galliano, Antonio Marras.

Svetlana Chertova lives and works in Moscow.

The works are in private collections.
