Né à Poitiers en 1949, Serge Thimothée a grandi dans un environnement qui lui a laissé une large part d’initiative personnelle et sa formation artistique est essentiellement autodidacte. Bien que, précocement reconnu par son instituteur (Mr BAUD) pour son coup de crayon efficace et sa perception des couleurs, il fut encouragé à s’inscrire aux beaux art de Poitiers en activité para scolaire.
Serge Thimothée y suivit les cours où son travail fut très apprécié de ses enseignants. Il dû cependant, pour des raisons familiales entrer dans la vie active et interrompre sa formation. Il ne reprit le crayon à dessin qu’au cours de son service militaire et poursuivit à partir de ce moment là l’approfondissement de son travail artistique.
S’intéressant tour à tour à différentes techniques (plume, huile, aquarelle, ...) Il a concentré son activité surtout sur le pastel à l’huile pour explorer les différentes façons de l’utiliser et améliorer sa technique.
Parallèlement, ses différentes activités professionnelles, (reflet de sa curiosité pour toutes les situations nouvelles) lui ont permis de développer à la fois son goût des couleurs, son imagination et sa sensibilité.
Dans les années 1990, il rencontre JacAdam, peintre de renom, qui lui fait découvrir une nouvelle perception des formes et de couleurs. Une amitié très forte les fait partager et travailler ensemble leurs créations pendant quelques années. Serge réalise une page Internet sur JacAdam qui l’encourage à présenter ses oeuvres au public.
Ce n’est qu’en 1999 qu’il réalise sa première exposition suite à la création dune série de dessins et peintures pour illustrer une manifestation Philatélique à Tours. Il reçoit alors une médaille de la Philatélie pour la réalisation des supports d’éditions du premier jour et du cachet de la poste marquant cet évènement.

Depuis, Serge Thimothée a participé à de nombreuses expositions collectives et personnelles, il continue de diversifier ses techniques, poursuit son œuvre figurative et explore les potentialités de l’art abstrait qu’il travaille dans un atelier d’Issy les Moulineaux animé par Patrick Cordeau.

Son imagination et sa créativité sans cesse renouvelée, lui servent pour communiquer au delà des mots, ses sentiments, ses émotions et sa pensée.
