ST est  passionnée par la faune et la flore depuis  l’enfance.  La beauté brute de la Nature est sa principale source d’inspiration. Aujourd’hui, elle propose de faire découvrir au public ses sculptures en bois flotté représentant des animaux marins ainsi que des sculptures en papier mâché représentant des animaux terrestres sauvages, grandeur nature.

 

Sa première intention pour l’élaboration de ces sculptures est d’utiliser des matériaux naturels pour  parler de la Nature, d’animaux sauvages, forts et fragiles, souvent en danger. Son choix s’est porté sur le bois flotté et le papier, des matériaux nobles et ordinaires, des matériaux apparemment délicats mais, qui à la fois résistent au temps.

Sa seconde intention est de retranscrire le mouvement naturel des animaux représentés dans ses créations grâce aux formes sensuelles et organiques des deux matériaux  qui invitent le spectateur à  une caresse du bout des yeux.

Pour la conception d’animaux marins,  le bois flotté lui est apparu comme une évidence.  Au-delà du fait qu’il soit issu de la mer, c’est un matériau extraordinaire: chaque morceau unique  a été façonné par les éléments, poli par le sel, l’eau, le sable, le vent, le temps mais il perdure malgré tout.   

Pour ce qui est de l’utilisation du papier mâché, il lui semble également cohérent de l’utiliser pour la représentation d’animaux sauvages pour deux raisons : d’une part, s’il est issu lui aussi de la Nature, le papier journal est également  associé à l'information et à la culture humaine et il devient ici un moyen d'expression pour évoquer la vie sauvage.

 

Pour finir,  en utilisant le  bois flotté et le papier ST souhaite créer un lien direct entre ses sculptures et l'environnement naturel.  Ces créations  ne sont pas seulement des représentations visuelles mais aussi des réflexions sur notre relation avec le monde naturel et si chaque sculpture devient  un hommage à la beauté et à la poésie de la vie sauvage, l’artiste aimerait qu’elle rappelle à chacun l’importance de la préserver.
