Before adapting and directing the show "Etty Hillesum, Portrait en Duo" in January 2010, Cornélie Statius Muller directed and performed solo "Chants Secrets", a recital composed of the poetry in alexandrines of Jean Genet, a show (still available) also created at the Charlie Chaplin Communal Cultural Center, Regional stage in Vaulx en Velin, in Rhône-Alpes. A DVD of the show provides a preview (available upon request).
During her third year at the Conservatoire d'Art Dramatique de Lyon in 1989, she became assistant director to Sylvie Mongin Algan and subsequently performed under her direction in several roles, including Camille in Pierre Corneille's Horace.
Directors Yves Charreton, Vincent Bady, Laurent Vercelletto, Philippe Vincent, Guy Naigeon, Claude Lullé, Jean Paul Lucet, Olivier Maurin, Philippe Faure, Guillermo Fernandez, and Bruno Meyssat have directed her on stage. Her roles include Hermione in Jean Racine's Andromaque, Dorimène in Molière's Le Bourgeois Gentillhomme, Portia in William Shakespeare's Julius Caesar, and Tecmesse in Sophocles' Ajax at the Cairo International Festival of Experimental Theatre. She also performs texts by Jean Giroudoux, Henri Michaux's Lointain Intérieur, as part of the Hommage à l'Acteur at Pont de Claix, Samuel Beckett's Solo et Assez, Leslie Kaplan's L'Excès-L'Usine, short stories by Franz Kafka, and Echyle's The Seven Against Thebes, among others.
A visual artist by initial training, she worked for a puppet company in 1988 and took advantage of the workshop to create a small object theater form, a 5-minute mini-show entitled Dimension Athom, which she performed at several festivals, including the Charleville-Mézières World Puppet Festival in 1988.
In film, she landed the role of Agnès in Françoise Decaux's Du Côté des Filles. She appeared as a figure in Gabriel Le Bomin's Insoupçonnable in 2010. For television, she has participated in films produced by France 3. As for continuing education, she attended a Noh workshop at the Art Action in Oguni Festival in Japan.
Always drawn to drawing and painting, she paints portraits (yours to order if you wish) and still lifes, mainly in oils and watercolors.
Alongside her career in theater and her work as a painter, she is a volunteer firefighter.
