Il y a quelque chose de si calme dans cette photo, montrant cependant une situation difficile. Ce paradoxe m'a conduit à cadrer cette scène. Nous sommes dans une sorte de cour intérieure tombant clairement en ruine, et même éventrée par endroits. J'ai pu accéder à ces lieux directement depuis la rue, et j'ai croisé sur mon chemin plusieurs personnes qui n'étaient pas dérangées par ma présence. Leur attitude d'accueil m'a encouragé à aller au bout du passage, quelques mètres plus loin. J'ai découvert cette scène. Les gens qui vivent là n'ont-ils pas tout fait pour y rester dans la paix et la dignité ? L'homme que nous pouvons voir se tient sérieusement, presque comme s'il priait ou pensait. Il y a un chat, assis devant lui, et semblant lui répondre par sa posture. Cette sensation de poésie se prolonge avec ces étoffes et vêtements multicolores, si bien nettoyés et agencés, suspendus dans les airs, tranchant avec l'architecture désordonnée. Même les murs moisis apportent un aspect graphique qui cadre toute la scène.

There is something so quiet in this pic, showing however a difficult situation. This paradox conducted me to frame this scene. We are in a sort of inner courtyard clearly falling into ruins, even in places disemboweled. I could enter into this area directly from street, that's opened, and I crossed on my way several people who were not disturbed by my presence. Their welcome attitude encouraged me to go at the end of passage, a few meters further. I discovered this scene. People who live there haven't they all done to stay there with peace and dignity ? The man we can see is standing seriously, nearly as if he was praying or thinking. There is a cat, sitting in front of him, and seeming to respond to him with its posture. This sensation is going on with poetry in these multicoloured materials and clothes, so well cleaned and arranged, hanging in the air, in opposition to the messy architecture. Even the mouldy walls bring a graphic aspect that frames the whole scene.
