Street art is a culture of collectives who, by typically illegal means, create works of art on public and/or urban surfaces (such as walls, utility boxes, bus stops, ect). Each piece they produce is like a fingerprint in its uniquely intricate lines and composure, rivaling so-called “fine art.” 

However, it is the taking part in the process of creating and the energy of collaboration working toward a common purpose, seeking to find meaning in a world that tells you that you’re pointless, which has driven the evolution of street-art and graffiti culture from mere acts of mischievous vandalism, to an entire counter-cultural movement with, not only a message, but a voice which can pierce through the mindlessness, and reach our ears without seeking permission to be heard. Street Art and Graffiti culture has always had its finger on the pulse of society, and has taken on the role of illuminating our sickness and our health as a whole, leaving our reflections in their writing upon our literal society walls, trying to show us how you can’t claim to be living a free and fulfilled life if you never dare to color outside the lines, or question why the line was drawn in the first place.
