Se courbe, entre dans l’eau,
Comme dans une musique,
Dont on joue un morceau.
Coulant dans sa bouée,
Note noire et bien ronde,
Elle file, belle épée,
Pour conquérir le monde. »
“The bather waits straight,
Bends, enters the water,
As in a music,
A piece of which we play.
Flowing in its buoy,
Black and well-rounded note,
She spins, beautiful sword,
To conquer the world. »
Cedric Bondonnat
This little bather is the first of a trilogy. She is upright, smiling, proud and hesitant, gentle and strong, a bird is resting on her shoulder. I wanted here to approach the richness of childhood, fragile and strong in faith.
This little bird is like this little inner voice that pushes us to move forward, like a red thread through my sculptures, to whisper in the viewer's ear "don't be afraid, you are not alone, trust yourself"...
This sculpture was made in bronze using the so-called "lost wax" technique, in partnership with the Adobati Foundry, in the Drôme.
