Sonja Mosick: Making the invisible visible

Sonja Mosick, an internationally active sculptor with studios in Mallorca and Bremen, knows how to translate the invisible into impressive sculptures. Her works, deeply influenced by a creative phase on the Caribbean island of St. Martin, move in the field of tension between form and emotion. Mosick creates organic, curved forms that combine the softness of feminine lines with the hard resilience of materials such as stone and bronze.

Her art exceeds the boundaries of the tangible and opens a door to a mystical world beyond the everyday. Instead of depicting visible physical structures, Mosick captures fleeting moments in solid material. These abstracted "petrified" inner visions create a connection between the ephemeral and the material - sensual, fluid forms that are nevertheless made of resilient, solid materials such as stone.

Her style bears a kinship to the works of masters such as Arp and Moore. But Mosick goes beyond a mere replication of nature to create a symbolic, new nature that reveals deeper truths. There is a romantic spirit in this approach: art as a bridge to the invisible, imbued with a sense of the intangible.

The title of her catalogue, Taste for the Invisible, sums up this philosophy. It reflects Mosick's pursuit of the essential, a deep connection to nature and access to inner happiness - perhaps even a touch of paradise.
