Glossy finish

А вы знаете, что устоявшийся стереотип о том, что страусы в случае опасности прячут голову в песок на самом деле миф? Это одно из самых старых заблуждений, которому уже около 2000 лет. Виновник этого обольщения древнеримский ученый Плиний Старший, который в своей энциклопедии записал: «Страусы считают, что, когда они засовывают голову и шею в землю, все их тело со стороны кажется сокрытым». Страус – редкая для тех времен птица, поэтому приходилось верить мудрецу. Собственно, как и сейчас мы верим всему, что выдают за авторитетное мнение.

Миф до сих пор поддерживается в литературе и мультипликации. А в речи мы используем устойчивое выражение «Спрятать голову в песок», что означает уйти от проблемы. Если ее не видно, значит она не существует. Согласитесь, что это распространенный прием? Возможно одна из защитных реакций нашего мозга от постоянного воздействия внешнего мира. С его бесконечным потоком проблем. Жизнь течет не линейно. В ней есть место многому, и все вопросы таким способом не решить. Но иногда «уйти в тень» стоит только ради того, чтобы увидеть со стороны тех, с кем потом можно ходить по свету с гордо поднятой головой! Мир сверху выглядит интереснее чем снизу!
