Die haben mich schon flehend angeschaut, bevor die Dosen leer waren! Und dann kamen Stück für Stück ihre Gesichter zum Vorschein.
Ein Rahmen folgt bald noch und einer ist schon verkauft. Das erste Paar erhielt soviel Resonanz, dass ich mich entschlossen habe noch zwei weitere zu gestalten.

Sheraya is a contemporary German artist whose work is deeply influenced by his travels and personal experiences. His signature characters and figures were initially conceived while traveling—on trains, buses, ferries, or during stays in accommodations, whether on beaches or in the mountains. Each journey became a creative process, resulting in small groups of figures that served as companions for the artist. Sheraya notes, “I never travel without tools and probably work more on vacation than at home; what I see, experience, and feel immediately finds expression and form.”
Some of Sheraya’s figures are inspired by cultural artifacts, particularly the works featured in the exhibition catalog Aklama - Helping Spirits of the Ewe and Dangme from the Horst Antes study collection. The simplicity and cultural significance of these figures resonate with Sheraya’s artistic philosophy, as they represent helping spirits of daily life.
