Seunghwui Koo is a contemporary award-winning South Korean artist. The artist draws inspiration for her artwork from the delicate details of her daily life in New York City. Her work is a commentary on the lives she has seen in New York. She was born in South Korea, where she originally developed the concept of combining the human body and pig's head. The significance of the pig's head is seen in the various Eastern and Western symbolic meanings. Her works often deal with the ideas of good fortune (Eastern) and greed (Western), two very different interpretations of the pig.
