Kemal Hodzic – known also as Leonardo of Sarajevo was born on September 26, 1948 in Sarajevo. He belongs to the social engaged school of painting. The humanitarian actions, ecological initiatives and educational work with children have been become very important for his circle of artists and intellectuals who gather in the splendid café “Leonardo”.
K. Hodzic’s works are the mirror of gentle memories truthfully transferred into the extraordinary artistic expression. Mediterranean landscapes, virtuous sky gazing, listening to the land in the gentle embrace of surrealism and the poetry inspired by this popular painter’s manuscripts, all these are emblems of his artistic path.
Paeans of raise for Kemal’s artistic hands and talent came from art critics and the public after each of seven independent exhibitions in Bugojno, Gradačac, Travnik and of course the city of his youth Sarajevo.
