During my trip to Laos I visited many rural villages. In Luang Prabang there's one located on one side of the Mekong river, accessible only by a short ferry ride. While waiting for the boat to arrive, I noticed this buddhist monk waiting on the quay, looking at the approaching boat. The subject was perfect: I intentionally overexposed my camera, to [...]
During my trip to Laos I visited many rural villages. In Luang Prabang there's one located on one side of the Mekong river, accessible only by a short ferry ride. While waiting for the boat to arrive, I noticed this buddhist monk waiting on the quay, looking at the approaching boat. The subject was perfect: I intentionally overexposed my camera, to create a minimalist show by having a nice contrast between the sea and his beautiful, orange tunic.

Sergio Capuzzimati is a photographer and architect. His architectural experience has undoubtedly influenced his photography work.
He investigates the countless possibilities that a metropolis like Hong Kong can provide. With the use of vivid colors and double exposure, he likes to dig out its spirit and archetypal components.
Sergio Capuzzimati was born in Italy and received his Master's Degree in Architecture from the same country. He is now based in Hong Kong and works there.
