Rubén López R. nació en Santa Rosa de Cabal (Risaralda, Colombia), pero es antioqueño por familia y formación. Escritor, editor y dibujante. Fue fundador, director y editor de las revistas Oassys y Rampa. Hizo estudios inconclusos de antropología y sociología. Hizo guiones culturales para televisión. Tuvo una columna sobre Medellín en El Muro, la guía cultural de Buenos Aires. Hizo parte del staff de la revista literaria Oxigen de España, de la revista internacional de arte y cultura Francachela de Argentina-Chile, del portal literario Resonancias de Francia y de la revista cultural Archipiélago de México.
