Rosemay Dahan is a contemporary French artist whose work reflects the vivid colors and rich influences of her North African birthplace. She has been drawing since a young age, primarily creating portraits in black and white until her move to Tuscany, where her work transformed with the introduction of color. Self-taught, Dahan balances her art with her career as an English teacher, which allows her time to pursue her passion for painting.

In her art, Dahan seeks to capture the intimacy of the "gaze," using color as her driving force. She works with various media, including oil, pastel, acrylic, and ink, to explore the depth of expression she finds in her subjects. Fascinated by the gaze, whether in the eyes of a model or in the details of a landscape viewed like a face, Dahan treats everything as a subject to observe—both others and herself.

For Dahan, color is a source of joy and excitement. Although it surrounds us, she believes it often goes unnoticed, and her art aims to make color visible, sharing its presence and power with viewers through her work.
