The wallpaper, based on a design from William Morris's firm, is significant. It alludes to a paradisiacal realm, however the distortion of the forms and lines suggest emotions far darker, akin to a Van Gogh portrait.

Rory Mitchell is a contemporary Norwegian painter. Although his working process relies heavily on a solid draughtsmanship, over the years this has been incorporated in a number of art disciplines, primarily oil painting and gouache painting. His intent is that the distorted lines and emotive colours lend themselves to the narratives he creates.

Today Mitchell works mostly with oil on canvas and creates figurative paintings with rich color palettes and Expressionist undertones.

Rory Mitchell was born in 1977, in Scotland, where he graduated from the Edinburgh College of Art.
