My paintings are known for the abstracted renderings of people and animals utilizing strategies of exaggeration, caricature, and pop-style colors. In my portraits I try to breathe life into the subjects not only through their facial expressions but also through layers of texture and my dynamic use of line. Whether depicting iconic historical and pop art figures or farmyard animals I openly acknowledge the tensions inherent in creating.

I started showing and selling my art in 2019 in Walla Walla, where I have lived since 1993. In recent years Walla Walla has become a tourist destination consistently rated as highly as a place to visit and live. For an area known for its wine industry, the town also supports the arts and artists. Located in this town are three colleges, several theatres, galleries, restaurants and wine tasting rooms. I have been lucky to have shows at some of these venues.
