Romain Boutillier Photographer
Romain Boutillier, photographer, born in 1974, lives in Arles and works everywhere. He began by studying graphic design, took theater classes, then explored the production of short films. It was by experimenting in various visual arts environments that he came to photography, starting as an assistant to a portrait photographer in Paris
From 2004, he responded to orders from the press and publishing. From 2007 to 2018, he collaborated with Hachette publishing as a photographer for the Grands week-end guides, these commissioned trips allowed him, at the same time, to develop his practice of street photography
Since 2007, he has been regularly exhibited, notably in 2023 at the Rencontres de la photographie d’Arles with Lost in Camargue, in 2021 at the Promenades Photographiques with Rue des sentiments, in 2018 at Voies Off with Intimes, in 2012 at the Promenades Photographiques with Les vêpres, in 2010 at the off de PARIS PHOTO with XPLOAD.
In 2023, he published Lost in Camargue with Libel, a 126-page book in 26cm by 26cm format.
Since 2014, he has been leading workshops, including for the Rencontres d’Arles.
His practice of several visual arts has nourished his eye with multiple references. His works involve a form of aesthetic experience that is unique to each subject.
