Rolf Doderlein De Win

Statement English: Born 1960, The Netherlands, Art Academy Minerva. Besides painting and etching, I started to focus more at making sculptures. Participated at the cultural Olympics twice (2002 2004) and took part in Grazz Cultural capital Europe 2003 Art for me is a necessity. It's a way of watching, living and experiencing, one more abstract then the other, in a style that resembles my drawings / paintings and etchings. Most of them are human figures, in which motion and emotion plays a major role. I want to give my work that extra something, not just a reflection of reality, but it has to transmit a feeling is a key part of the development process, to ensure that the theme is as strong as possible.

The inspiration for my art comes from research, memories, stories, travelling, native cultures, political and environmental concerns. My works are the combination of abstract and thoughts, sometimes figurative in expression. Worked in sculpture art all over the world. I have been working in Japan, China, Belgium, Germany, Austria Graz Cultural capital of Europe, USA, Siberia Russia, England, Sweden, Italy Cultural Olympic, Torino, Salt Lake City Cultural Olympic, and Finland. I have devoted my life to the pursuit of creative influence and expression. Travelling extensively, I have sought out artistic references and impressions wherever I have found myself, from Siberia to Alaska. I have enriched my natural instincts with the experience of diverse cultures and styles. My work often goes without predetermined form; the form must come from the combination of material, handling and ideas on how this is introduced into the 2D or 3D artwork (form follows the idea using craftsmanship). Use of medium is depending of the way the artistic thoughts will push me in to. Graphic, painting or sculpting in various materials are the ways to express myself.
