O "PIFEIRO" OU ZÉ DO PÍFANO / THE FLUTE PLAYER (2020) Digital Arts by Ricaru Araujo
"Fine-Arts" prints on paper
It is a process of printing on art paper using very high-quality pigment inks and printed in very high definition. Its level of conservation is exceptional (more than 100 years), its quality, depth, and richness of nuances exceeds the classic photo print on Argentic paper.

Glossy finish
Apart from its exceptional thickness, the fiber paper is composed of an alpha-cellulose base without acid and it is covered with barium sulphate, and a microporous layer absorption enhancing pigments during printing. A pure white color, non-yellowing to light, this paper is especially designed for resistance and aging. It is used by major museums worldwide as it offers excellent resolution, rendering deep and dense colors.

Ricaru
I had many opportunities to see instrumentalists and trio of lining with their "pifeiros" (Pifanos / Pífaros player). It was a privilege to applaud the famous Banda de Caruaru in one of their performances.
This is undoubtedly one of the images of Brejão (a city in the interior of Pernambuco/ Northeast/Brazil), where my father took him for a walk in the village, at night, a lot of music, roasted corn and quentão, the real "Pé de Serra". The flags announce how important this peculiar June celebration is, typical of the sertão. The feasts of St. John.
Unusual instrument, in reality a flute usually made of bamboo or taboca, and can be made more recently with metal tubes for reuse or PVC. The pifeiro himself makes his instrument, chooses to cut drills with red-hot iron and tunes in a very particular way, there in the brenhas of the Northeast many play their own pife or Pífaro. It can be performed on solo or in a forró trio, also known as a suit.
Despite having its origin in Europe, in Brazil, with the influence of the indigenous people who already made their flutes of taboca or bamboo, we developed our own instrument with aspect, materials, tuning and techniques of ours.
Ricaru Araujo is a contemporary Brazilian plastic artist and researcher known for his diverse range of works, including drawing, watercolors, monotypes, engravings, silkscreen, sculpture, modeling, painting, electronic art, animation videos, crafts, photography, and multimedia art using recycled materials. With over 40 years dedicated to the research, study, and production of art, he has participated in numerous physical and virtual exhibitions in cities, galleries, salons, fairs, and events both in Brazil and internationally.
Araujo is particularly noted for his transformation work with recyclable materials such as PET, PVC, wood, plastics, metals, UHT milk cartons, CDs, paper, cardboard, vegetable fibers, and seeds. His paintings are characterized by strongly stylized and personal drawings that exhibit craftsmanship and intense dynamism. His work demonstrates a great organic sense through the essential use of color and the inner rhythm of forms.
Araujo's unique style features a graphic approach where the color black flows and dots harmoniously and freely. Textures in his works emerge gracefully and spontaneously, often reaching towards a sky full of light, illuminated by the intensification of the sun. The sun, a central element in his compositions, symbolizes the vibrant and attractive folklore of his themes, which he lives and depicts with a strong connection to his northeastern lineage. His works, often reminiscent of cordel literature, are executed with a refined sense of humor and a natural identification with his cultural heritage.
