I love the music of Miles Davis, and not a day goes by without me listening to something he played. I love the music of Miles Davis, and not a day goes by without me listening to something he played. His notes linger in the air like echoes of a world just out of reach, shaping themselves into something new each time, no matter how many times I’ve heard them before. There is an endlessness to them, like waves rolling onto a shore that never fully remembers their arrival.

This black and white piece is my dedication to "Circle in the Round", a composition that, much like light and shadow, never moves in a straight line but bends, shifts, and transforms. It spirals inward and outward, tracing the edges of the known and the unknown. The print captures that feeling—the repetition that is never repetition, the shape that forms but never quite settles. A meditation in light and darkness. A rhythm carved in silence.

I traveled endless miles and came upon Paris, Texas, while David Crosby sang Cowboy Movie on the radio. Visions rose in my mind — the wild dreams of Kubrick, Lynch, Kitano. Dusk had fallen by then. Dark and unkind. Like a Francis Bacon painting, stripped of mercy. I took up my camera, same way Fritz Munro did in L.A., back in ’82. Like it was the only thing left to hold.
