Raymond Silva Jac. Martin is a multidisciplinary artist hailing from Cuba and currently based in Dubai. With an extensive background in visual and performing arts, Raymond's creative journey encompasses roles as a painter, fashion designer, model, artistic director, and choreographer.
A graduate of the National Professional Academy of Plastic Arts “Leopoldo Romañach” in Cuba, Raymond’s artistic foundation is deeply rooted in academic painting and design.
Raymond has showcased his talent in diverse fields, from designing costumes and directing performances for luxury hotels in Cuba to founding his personal fashion brand, Ray’s Design, which highlights his artistic and conceptual approach to art and fashion.
1. Claude Monet (Impressionism):
Share his interest in light as a changing element and in capturing the fleeting moment. The atmosphere and use of color in your landscapes evoke his search for the intangible.
2. Vincent van Gogh (Post-Impressionism):
For your chromatic expressiveness, the visible and emotional stroke, and the energy that emanates from your compositions. Like Van Gogh, don't be afraid to let feeling invade form.
3. Gerhard Richter (Contemporary):
In your fusion of photography, abstraction, and figuration, as well as in your conceptual use of color and perception.
4. Jean-Michel Basquiat (Neo-Expressionism):
For your use of graffiti, the urban, and the spontaneous, blending technique and raw emotion, especially in your more experimental works.
5. Wifredo Lam (Cuban/Surrealism):
As a Cuban artist with a global perspective, you might feel a kinship with his ability to connect cultures and symbolism in powerful compositions.
