Raúl Rubio

Raul Rubio is a contemporary Cuban painter. During his formative years, he embarked on music studies at the Provincial School of Arts Louis Casas Romero. However, his fascination with painting took hold, keeping him tethered to brushes and palettes ever since. Subsequently, he joined the Provincial Art group Fidelio Ponce DeLeon, where he found inspiration from his instructor Martha Jimenez and fellow artists who shaped his artistic path. During that time, he had the chance to engage in numerous individual and collective exhibitions, an experience that proved deeply rewarding and left a lasting impact on his artistic journey.

Defining the theme of his artwork proves challenging for him as he is equally captivated by capturing the surreal, portraying portraits, and depicting landscapes. The artist finds great allure in the diverse range of subjects, considering it a defining characteristic of his artistic identity.
