Born in Beirut Lebanon in 1979, Ramzi Karanouh was fortunate to discover his passion for art and drawing at the early age of three. His passion developed as he took to art, a safe haven from the horrors of war that plagued Lebanon all through the 1980’s.
Following high school, Karanouh pursued his studies in Graphic Design at the Lebanese American University and paved his way for more than a decade as a graphic designer. Always revisiting his initial passion, his love for painting did not grow dim as he rekindled it again in 2011 with a firm conviction of becoming a full-time artist.
Intrigued by the nature of the human mind and spirit, coupled with his keen sense of observation, especially as a visual artist, Karanouh always felt odd, dwelling and searching for more than what meets the eye, trying to manifest his vision through painting. He spent most of his life wandering the labyrinths of spirituality which led him to delve deeper and venture onto a journey of self-discovery, only to prove the deep impact this had on his art and thus becoming the fulcrum and driving force behind all of his paintings.
Through years of experimentation with mediums, styles and techniques Ramzi has come one step closer to portraying his vision of genuine self-expression by developing his skills and visual mind-set.
Today he approaches the art world and is starting to gain attention of renowned galleries and distinguished curators.
Ramzi Karanouh’s paintings bare a raw, meditative quality where his work is a constant strive to highlighting extreme artistic individuality as an intrinsic foundation that binds people together.
