Robert was born in 1954 in a small Southern town in Arkansas USA. Robert has been an artist since the age of five years old when he first started drawing cars, trucks, robots, dogs and anything else he could think of. After graduating in 1976 from Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, Arkansas with a BS degree in graphic arts, Robert began working at a metropolitan community college teaching Art to an adult education class. Unfortunately, this was only a temporary position and after funding for the class ran out Robert found himself without a job.  Not being established as a professional artist, Robert had to accept traditional employment to support himself and to make ends meet.

Robert's style can mostly be described as realistic with a strong emphasis on design, composition, color and light and shadow. Robert's graphic arts training is very evident in the work that he creates. Because of computer design programs such as Photo Shop and Adobe Illustrator another medium has opened up to Robert that allows him to experiment and create stunning digital art images. Robert takes inspiration from a variety of different mediums and he is a big follower of Andy Warhol and the Pop Art movement and culture. Because art is such a deeply personal thing and it means so many things to so many different people, Robert looks for opportunities to incorporate social awareness and concepts when searching for new ideas.

Robert's earlier works are in several private collections and he has created graphic art designs for a local radio station, medical clinic and print media.  Robert states that "The training I received at 'A-State' was invaluable to me in terms of developing my own individual style and learning more about art techniques, mediums and influential artists themselves". Robert's home is in Forrest City, Arkansas. He is married with two adult children and three grandchildren. Robert just retired from an eighteen year career working for the State of Arkansas.
