Pila Cadena’s Life Path and Destiny – By Paul Morris

Always having the dream and the passion to be an artist. The burning passion to bring soul to canvas.

Magical how life begins and dreams do become a reality. This is a story of how destiny and life paths chosen, even though opposing each other, come full circle to fulfill our deepest desires and dreams.

Pila has always been destined to be an artist. Born in Bogota, Colombia in 1957, she came to America in 1977 visiting family before embarking on her education in the fine arts in Paris, France.

Little did Pila know that her life path decision to stay in Saint Petersburg would divert her dream of bringing soul, through oil to canvas, until almost 29 years later. In those 29 years she studied art at USF, got married, helped run a family business, survived cancer, became a champion long distance runner, and most importantly raised two very exceptional children. All of these left no time for her true love, passion, and dream to be an artist.

But Pila’s passion never died and for us, thankfully, neither does destiny, after 29 years of dreaming Pila now follows her dream, her destiny to be an artist. An artist to capture the essence and soul of the different people of the world onto canvas. Pila prefers to work her canvases larger than life, to amplify the natural features, especially the eyes, (the mirror of the soul).

So life has come full circle and Pila’s dream and destiny have come together...
just look into the eyes of her paintings and see, what Pila feels…

“My canvases are unique, my expressions are unique…There is a vitality , a life force, an energy, and a quickening that is translated through me onto canvas…”

“I want to be able to bring the viewers into the canvas and let them feel the emotions portrayed. I want to create a connection between the viewer and my canvases, if only for a split second, but a connection that would last a life time.”

“I look to the challenge of searching for images that will enrich the viewer’s spirit and touch their hearts…”
