Pietro Contu ,nasce a Villanovatulo (Nu) il 28 febbraio del 1953. Fin dalla 5° elementare gli viene consigliata una scuola d'arte. Frequenta il liceo Artistico di Cagliari e continua lo studio di forme e colori, sperimentando diverse tecniche. Negli anni ottanta scopre la scultura che coltiva assiduamente, (ma non abbandonando mai la pittura) dando forma a molteplici materiali quali, pietra, legno, ferro, vetro e creta. Presenta molte mostre personali di cui la prima nel 1977 presso la galleria d'arte "il portico" a Cagliari.. continua a esporre in innumerevoli collettive e partecipa ad altrettante estemporanee di pittura e scultura riscuotendo un notevole successo. Le più recenti : Settembre 2006 "Confronti nazionali d'arte" presso la Cittadella dei Musei in Cagliari. Agosto 2007 “Pana D'Arte “ in occasione della festa della panada (piatto tipico sardo) in Assemini. Novembre 2007 "Collettiva di pittura" presso la galleria d'arte Il Colore - Cagliari. Febbraio 2008 Mostra a tema "EROS" presso la galleria d'arte Paola Frau- - Cagliari. Settembre 2008 “Degustando l'arte” presso località turistica di Geremeas . (Ca) Settembre 2008 “Attobiu de poetas e pintoris” (meeting di poeti e pittori) in Serri (NU). Dicembre 2009 " Biennale Internazionale Dell'Arte Contemporanea di Firenze "
