For several years, Pierre Joseph has been carrying out pioneering work on the questions of knowledge and its transmission, of the production and evolution of forms, languages and modes of thought (or rather of their uncertainties), which has profoundly marked the practice of artists of his generation. Inventor, at the beginning of the Nineties of "devices to create images" based on a principle of functioning in group with variable geometry, he is one of the first to have introduced in the artistic sphere, by modifying the relation of the spectator to the work and to the exhibition, problems relating to ecology, to the virtual reality, to the role-playing games, to the new modes of communication or even to the cinema.
