Colombian artist, born in the Laboyos valley (Pitalito Huila).
Habido e Inquieto, researcher of the artist's profession, studied at the Schools of Fine Arts of the University of Tolima and the National University of Bogotá.
Tireless worker, dedicated much of his research to Murals. The great plastic quality and the strength of his creative vision make Pedro Cabrera a professional dedicated in-
tensely to art.
Pedro Cabrera's talent is expressed in his painting in two ways:
The vivacity of color and the dreamlike shapes that inhabit his canvases. The color suggests a joyful and compact universe that captures the clarity of its application and the contrasts achieved, which make the viewer participate in the festival of light.
The light in its shadow, through contrasts, affirms a multitude of planes and depths that only acquire meaning in the viewer's imagination.
Color appeals to the viewer's sensitivity to settle in their heart and encourage identification processes, either through elements of their consciousness, accumulated by the continuous presence of the community's culture.
The abstract forms proclaim a different universe in two senses: either the infinite space, imaginable by the unknown, where the viewer can let his imagination and even his repressed desires fly, and on the other hand, a microcosm where the possibility of another world is also entertained. in balance, equally unknown.
Pedro Cabrera's work has nothing to do with real reality. It is, in itself, a new reality that does not violate the vital experience of those who look at it but, rather, suggests an inner tranquility resulting from a combination of shapes and colors capable of making them share the creative experience.
