Glossy finish

An unusually beautiful icon with carefully painted details, inspired images and bright, living colors. Written in egg tempera on a pine board. The halos are decorated with gold leaf. The icon is coated with varnish, which protects the painting from fading, dust and moisture. Consecrated in the Church of St. Demetrius of Thessaloniki in St. Petersburg, in 2018.
Materials: pine board 102.5 X 64 X 3 cm with ark and oak dowels. Pavoloka, gesso, gold leaf, egg tempera, gold enamel, acrylic, varnish.
On the reverse side there is a handwritten stamp and calligraphy: troparion, tone 5 to the icon of the Most Holy Theotokos of Unfading Flower, date and place of writing, name of the author.
Style: combinations of the traditions of Russian icon painting of the Armory Chamber of the Moscow Kremlin 17th century, icon painting of Mount Athos and Western European painting of the 16th - 19th centuries.

The expression of the author's concept is the position of an active observer. The content is not of key importance, since everyone has their own. The main thing is the spirit communicated by the work, it is the content. The process of constant restructuring of reality is fixed. For a conventional unit of time, it, reality, breaks up into countless fragments and is reassembled again. Quotes, associations, parodies, graphics of a painterly stroke, the sound of a musical pause, the flow of a frozen moment ... The most abstract concept is "border". Water-soluble acrylic perfectly interacts with oil, putty with paper, wire with cotton wool. The purpose of creativity is to harmonize reality, since harmony contributes to the achievement of primordial inner silence. And this silence is both the background and the content of the process of universal creation. Connecting to this process contributes to health and longevity, helping to consciously move into eternity. Thus, works of authorship are pauses of a continuous moment.
