Del capitulo referido a “Hambre” procuré captar de “forma figurativa” la descripción detallada que Frankl realiza en el pasaje que dice “Cuando desaparecían por completo las últimas capas de grasa subcutánea, y presentábamos la apariencia de esqueletos con pellejos y andrajos, comenzábamos a observar como nuestros cuerpos se devoraban a sí mismos…”

Utilicé una técnica sencilla, dibujo a pluma, porque el cromatismo no me pareció un recurso pictórico apropiado para materializar en imagen el relato sórdido y a la vez científico del autor. Solo apelé al color, dando una llamativa pincelada cromática sobre la figura del niño famélico, en la escala de los rojos, conformada de manera brusca, para representar, lo que intuí, la existencia de, las aún, energías vitales del autor, que salen al exterior cuando dice “El despertar era, con mucho, el momento más terrible de las 24hs de la vida en un campo de concentración… En esos fatídicos minutos yo gozaba del menudo alivio de mordisquear con inmenso deleite, el trozo de pan guardado desde el día anterior en el bolsillo de mi abrigo”
