Cette œuvre est un tableau figuratif faisant partie de la série des « Intérieur ». Il participe de la réflexion du philosophe Gaston Bachelard dans son livre « La poétique de l’espace » et plus particulièrement de « L’immensité intime ».
Au premier plan figure une chaise de dos, puis une table et de l’autre coté de la table une autre chaise faisant face à la première.
A l’arrière plan un meuble peint en rose chair sur lequel des taches de soleil vibrent comme une présence fugace.
Les chaises et la table forment un ensemble dans les nuances de gris, allant du plus clair au plus sombre.
Le titre « The Big Table » représente cette grande table qui peut être un élément de séparation ou un lieu d’échange riche en devenir.

Patrice Lannoy is a contemporary French painter, visual artist and graphic designer. The reading of Gaston Bachelard, particularly "The Poetics of Space," as well as his exposure to minimalist music throughout his formative years will have a significant impact on his work. The Living Theater and Jerzy Grotowski's theater will also both serve as inspirations.
Patrice Lannoy was born in 1948, in Paris, France, where he studied at the National School of Applied Arts in Paris. He completed his training at the New Arts Lab (IRAT Institute for Research in Art and Technology) in London.
