"Fine-Arts" prints on paper
It is a process of printing on art paper using very high-quality pigment inks and printed in very high definition. Its level of conservation is exceptional (more than 100 years), its quality, depth, and richness of nuances exceeds the classic photo print on Argentic paper.

Glossy finish
Apart from its exceptional thickness, the fiber paper is composed of an alpha-cellulose base without acid and it is covered with barium sulphate, and a microporous layer absorption enhancing pigments during printing. A pure white color, non-yellowing to light, this paper is especially designed for resistance and aging. It is used by major museums worldwide as it offers excellent resolution, rendering deep and dense colors.

Patrice BUTEL, alias Pat' RICE, is a self-taught painter from Rochefort sur Mer (17), born in 1955 and living in Deux Sèvres.
Throughout his childhood, he expressed himself through drawing and crafts, subjects in which he excelled.
Then, the time for higher scientific studies arrived, a field where drawing what we see is essential for analysis and observation. Sketches and drawings of natural and life sciences oblige him to the realistic and accurate transcription of things.
Graduated Doctor of Science in 1982 and author of publications at the Academy of Sciences and in numerous scientific journals, he abandoned the world of scientific research in 1984 for the world of work in the service of local authorities: a parenthesis in his life as he says.
It was only late in life (at over 40 years old), that he decided to dive back into this world of graphic transcription by trying various techniques:
Watercolor, pastel, acrylic and oil, so many areas in which he can just as easily follow the path of excellence that leads to the perfection of realism, or the wild path that leads to the endless horizon of the imaginative, of abstract, or surrealism.
A work still at the dawn of its blossoming, unfinished, but in full bloom of creativity which will gradually lead him to build an artistic identity by reconciling hyper realism, a mark of perfectionism, rebellious tachism, and the balance of the "crazy" Cartesian construction by the approach of cubism, a mixture of Buffet and Picasso who inspire him.
Some would say of him that he does not have his own style... But isn't it a form of style not to have one or to be capable of having several?
Being yourself and remaining so, that is the best of styles!
To be continued...
