Parya Vatankhah's art explores the complex construction of identity amidst political turmoil, addressing issues such as gender, women's rights, and freedom of expression based on her Iranian experience. The human body is a central theme in her art, through which she conveys provocative and impactful messages. She is also deeply concerned with climate change and animal welfare, often incorporating natural elements as mediums or subjects in her work.
As a curator, Vatankhah has played a key role in international art events, bringing attention to the works of exiled Iranian female artists who are often marginalized and censored in their home country. Her contributions have earned her several prestigious awards, including the London Feminism Short Film Award and the Prix de la Laïcité from the Grand Chapitre Général du Rite Français of the Grand Orient de France (GODF).
Vatankhah's work has been showcased internationally across various platforms, including exhibitions, video art festivals, contemporary art events, and academic conferences.
