By means of cement, sand and other unconventional materials applied on canvas, Özlem Kalkan Erenus is exploring the possibilities of deformation and abstraction in her works based on figures.
Erenus organized 17 personal exhibitions, participated in over 150 group shows, in several workshops and art symposia; in Turkey, Romania, Bulgaria, Austria, Hungary, Germany, UK, Italy, USA, India, China, Iran, Vietnam, Morocco, Finland, France, Poland and she won several prizes.
Her works were represented at the “3rd International Biennial of Tehran” and at the “International Biennial of Arad” and were included in numerous public and private collections.
Erenus is organizing international art symposia and exhibitions in several towns of Turkey and she is a board member of “Turkish Union of Fine Arts” since 2003. Her articles, interviews and translations in art field are being published in several art magazines and in peer reviewed publications.
Since 2004 she is working in her private studio in Ataköy, Istanbul.
Graduated from Istanbul Lisesi (High School) in 1989 and Istanbul University, Faculty of Business Administration in 1993, Erenus completed her dissertation on the corpus of Marcel Duchamp's works in 2012 and took her MA degree on “Art Theory and Criticism” at Istanbul Işık University, Department of Art Science.
Her book "Marcel Duchamp" (in turkish) is published by Tekhne Publications in April, 2014.
