Biography
Ulrich lives and works in London. He was born in Germany in 1969 and has been living in England since 1988, with various work and study phases spent in Berlin and other parts of Germany, as well as in France and Italy.
From 1988 until 1991, he studied Fine Art at Goldsmiths' College under John Wood, Elma Thubron and Ferris Newton. Since then, his work has been exhibited at galleries in London, Germany and the United States where he had his first exposure in December 1999 at the 'LA Artists Gallery' in Studio City, California. From September 2000 until January 2001, he showed work at the DFN Gallery in New York City.
His last London exhibition was a one-person show at the Ice House, Kensington, from June 30 to July 16, 2001.
His work is in private collections in England, Germany, the USA and Singapore.
"Art can build a bridge between the visible universe and the invisible universe behind it. Art can express realities that surround us and create the world we experience. Through art, I can communicate all my experiences, and bring together what I saw in this world and what other aspects of me experienced on other levels. I open my heart to life and trust the universe to help me create images that can answer my questions, images that speak a universal language. Art can give us answers and lead us to deeper understanding of ourselves, and our relationships with other people."
