The ancient Roman goddess of wisdom and war.
She was part of the triad of the most important gods of Ancient Rome.
Minerva, along with her father and his wife, was included in the Etruscan triad of gods.

She presided over all peaceful crafts and the defense of cities from enemies. At the same time, she was a protector of childbirth and could heal diseases, which is why she is considered one of the oldest Mother Deities.

Minerva’s attributes included her consort and son, as well as the vessel of the Goddess of Immortality, which she guarded, preventing humanity from gaining the eternal life granted only to gods.

Her main festival, the Quinquatria, was celebrated annually from March 19 to 23. During these days, students were released from their studies and paid their teachers. Festivities included gladiator games.

Minerva was also identified with local deities of the conquered provinces.
Her role as a military protector is evidenced by the offerings and dedications made by Roman generals in her honor after notable victories.
For instance, Lucius Aemilius Paullus, after completing the conquest of Macedonia, burned part of the spoils in Minerva’s honor. Pompey, after his triumph, built a temple for her on the Campus Martius, as did Octavian Augustus after his victory at Actium.

In Rome alone, temples to Minerva were erected on the Aventine, Caelian, and Esquiline hills, on the Forum of Nerva, and the Campus Martius.

As a complement to this image, the background of the painting features a print by Peter Paul Rubens, Minerva and Mercury.
On the goddess’s head is a rare rose named “Minerva,” and her body is adorned with three angels painted by Jean Daullé.

Minerva is the embodiment of reason — “Minerva conquers ignorance.”

The painting is covered with a glossy protective layer of oil

Olya is an artist for whom art has been a guiding star since childhood. Her first canvas was the walls of her family home, and her first palette was the boundless imagination where every stroke was a conversation with the world. In 2015, she truly opened the door to the depths of oil painting, feeling the paints come alive under her hands, transforming into a tool for creating new universes. At first, it was a journey of discovery. Experiments, like first steps on an unknown path, led her to understand the endless possibilities of the technique. Olya delved into the ancient mysteries of the classical style, absorbing the sophistication of realism, the subtlety of romanticism, and the magical depth of symbolism. Her paintings are not merely images; they are visual poems where every element, every detail carries a hidden message. Oil on canvas is more than just a tool; it is her meditation, her path to inner light. In each painting, she, like an alchemist, transforms emotions into colors, and colors into meanings. Her works are a dialogue with those who are ready to listen, a story about the beauty of the world hidden behind the everyday. Her style combines precision and soulfulness, the vibrancy of details, and the depth of subtext. Each canvas is like a window into another world, where reality and dreams merge, where flowers and fabrics breathe, and the gazes of her characters penetrate to the very core. Olya believes that art is a bridge that connects hearts, and her paintings are an invitation to a journey where the viewer can find themselves. For her, painting is not just creativity but a way to speak of eternal truths and values, filling the world with light and harmony.
