Aniva Lighthouse is an abandoned lighthouse that was built in 1939 on a small rock Sivuchya, near a hard-to-reach rocky Cape Aniva on the Sakhalin island. This area is magical itself, it is rich in currents, frequent fogs, underwater rocky banks. At first, the lighthouse was called - Nakashiretoko (Japanese 中知 床,), from the Japanese name of the cape, and later it was renamed Aniva Lighthouse. Without proper care and maintenance Aniva Lighthouse is gradually ruined, but by depicting disappearing architecture on canvas, an artist draws public attention to the beauty that should be appreciated and preserved.
