The painting "House near the Forest" is a vivid depiction of a serene rural scene where nature and human life coexist in harmony. Executed in a rich impasto technique with thick strokes of oil paint on cardboard, the artwork radiates depth and texture, drawing the viewer into its immersive landscape. The composition is centered around a lush green forest, its towering trees reaching upward with a mix of dark and vibrant greens. The foliage, painted with energetic and expressive strokes, gives a sense of movement, as if swaying in a gentle breeze. The variation of deep blues and purples within the trees adds contrast, creating a cool shadowy atmosphere that enhances the painting’s depth. The artist has skillfully layered colors, allowing glimpses of sky through the gaps in the canopy, where soft, swirling pink and blue tones create a dreamy, tranquil mood. A bright yellow haystack sits prominently in the foreground, standing in contrast to the cool tones of the surrounding vegetation. This golden element acts as a focal point, pulling the viewer’s gaze toward the heart of the rural scene. Its rough texture, achieved through thick, energetic brushstrokes, captures the rustic charm of a countryside setting. The houses, nestled near the edge of the forest, are painted in warm earthy tones, with rooftops of deep orange and brown blending seamlessly into the natural surroundings. The cottages have a humble and inviting appearance, their small windows glowing with a sense of life. The artist’s use of loose, impressionistic strokes gives the structures an organic, almost dreamlike quality, making them feel as though they are a natural extension of the landscape. In the lower right-hand corner, two figures stand near a narrow dirt path that winds its way through the grassy terrain. One figure, draped in red, appears to be guiding the other, perhaps a child, toward the houses. Their presence adds a human element to the otherwise wild and untouched setting, infusing the painting with warmth and narrative intrigue. The figures, though abstract in detail, are expressive in posture, conveying a sense of companionship and purpose.

Oleksiy Andriyovych Ivanyuk was born on March 13, 1954, in the city of Pyriatyn, Poltava Oblast, Ukraine. He is a painter and is married to O. Ivanyuk. He became a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine (NSHU) in 2003.
He completed his education at the Crimean Art School in Simferopol in 1987, where he was taught by prominent instructors including V. Bernadsky, L. Greiser, and M. Morgun. From 1988 to 2008, he taught fine arts at the Pyriatyn School-Gymnasium of Aesthetic Education.
Oleksiy Ivanyuk has been actively engaged in artistic work and has participated in national and international art exhibitions since 1978.

His primary genres of art are landscape and still life. His paintings are characterized by emotional sincerity and a warm, soulful quality that affirms the harmony of life. His creative work is deeply rooted in national traditions and the cultural heritage of Ukraine.

In Oleksiy Ivanyuk's Poltava landscapes, there is a greatness in simplicity, a view of ordinary suburban landscapes as wonders that are no longer accessible to the average resident of a metropolis. Fauvist colors and impasto techniques are applied by the master to enhance expressiveness, while thick brushstrokes emphasize the form and relief of the depicted objects. Familiar places, houses immersed in green gardens, boundless steppes, fields, forest glades, and streets become lyrical abstractions and reach the level of aesthetic reflection, reflecting the author's sensory perception of the world.
