Olejarczyk (wojtek Placek) is a contemporary Polish painter whose artistic journey began at the age of 43. Despite his relatively late start, Olejarczyk has been painting for three years, utilizing the medium as a means to express his anxieties and fears.
For Olejarczyk, painting is not about faithfully representing reality, but rather about conveying emotions and forms that emerge from his imagination. He approaches his work with a sense of improvisation, often creating pieces without preliminary drawings, allowing his creativity to flow freely on canvas.
In his artistic practice, Olejarczyk gravitates towards expressionism and abstract painting, prioritizing the exploration of inner turmoil and existential themes over adherence to external artistic trends. He eschews the current fashion for bright, exaggerated paintings, attributing it to the pervasive influence of digital screens.
While Olejarczyk draws inspiration from various painters, he remains unswayed by contemporary art trends, preferring to stay true to his own unique vision and painting technique. When creating commissioned pieces, he maintains creative autonomy, insisting on realizing his own ideas and artistic expression. Through his work, Olejarczyk invites viewers to engage with the complexities of human emotion and the transformative power of art.
