L'ANTRE DE LA BÊTE (2025) Painting by Odette Gauvreau
Seller Odette Gauvreau
"Fine-Arts" prints on paper
It is a process of printing on art paper using very high-quality pigment inks and printed in very high definition. Its level of conservation is exceptional (more than 100 years), its quality, depth, and richness of nuances exceeds the classic photo print on Argentic paper.

Glossy finish
Apart from its exceptional thickness, the fiber paper is composed of an alpha-cellulose base without acid and it is covered with barium sulphate, and a microporous layer absorption enhancing pigments during printing. A pure white color, non-yellowing to light, this paper is especially designed for resistance and aging. It is used by major museums worldwide as it offers excellent resolution, rendering deep and dense colors.

A native of Chambly, Quebec, this jack-of-all-trades has a background in which artistic practice runs parallel to audiovisual production, journalism, and scenic painting. Decades of work in theater, advertising, cinema, and series allow her to design and create trompe l'oeil, casts, faux finishes, and reproductions of well-known paintings in all styles and formats.
It is a consuming passion for materials and mediums that guides her creation. By leaving room for chance and using unorthodox mixtures, Odette often lets the material decide the result of the textures. Her subjects are often tinged with small touches of humor with a touch of darkness, or unlikely situations are common in nature, where animals, insects, minerals, and objects coexist without any common connection. Time and space do not exist.
