Leaving you (2021) Painting by Oana Savin

Oana Savin was born in Bucharest, Romania. Before 1990, she attended painting classes at The Folk Art School. She later worked as a designer for prototype and small series objects in Dale’s glass techniques at the State Department of Glass and Ceramic.

In 1996, Savin earned a degree in painting from The Art Academy in Bucharest. During her time at the academy and beyond, she served as Art Manager for a major auction house, which fueled her lifelong passion for antiques. She later became a Consultant at the Department of International Relations at the Ministry of Culture, where she organized Romanian art exhibitions abroad.

For 20 years, Savin managed her own fashion house, where she designed clothes, accessories, and jewelry. In 2002, she became a US resident and worked in interior and environmental design.

Since 1998, Savin has been a member of the Union of Plastic Artists in Bucharest and is included in The Romanian Contemporary Art Encyclopedia (Vol. V). She has organized numerous painting exhibitions in Bucharest at prestigious venues such as the Palace of the Parliament and the British Council, as well as personal fashion shows.

Her work, celebrated both in Europe and the US, has been featured in exhibitions in Los Angeles, Carmel, France, Switzerland, Greece, and Lebanon. Savin's art is characterized by her innovative use of fabrics and accessories, blending traditional and contemporary elements. She believes that art is more than material; it is a priceless moment of the artist's life, cherished and unique.
