The subjects in the paintings are of people I met, either in my imagination or in life. In either case, they are equally personal and familiar to me. They end up in the same place, within my mind's eye, as a thought, a reflection, an image, a feeling, a memory. They are alive in my mind, as friends, children of mine, and I want to allow them greater expression and so I transfer them into the paint, and then they have a life of their own and their own freedom outside of my dominion.

Noah Lubin was born in 1979 in the USA into an artistic family where he came into contact with many artists from a very early age on. One of the most fascinating young contemporary Jewish artists of this generation, Noah is a neo-expressionist inspired by artists such as Basquiat, Picasso, the Cobra movement, and several other Moderns.

The choice of vibrant colors which depict his positive view on life is one of his main characteristics and the one that captures the eye and imagination of the viewer. His works present portraits, relationships, and other human conditions by which the artist is inspired.

Lubin invented the “Radical Judaica” movement, which represents today’s traditional Jewish spirit and life using a fresh vision and a contemporary style and approach.

In front of his motifs, Noah Lubin wants everything at the same time: to take possession of them, to seize their character, and to express himself entirely. Painting for Noah Lubin is not only an aesthetic experience. He does not aim only at elegance and harmony but at honesty and purity.

Asher Mene Curator Basha Art Gallery, Jerusalem

In any of his works, there is one thing which strikes: all of them have as a subject one or more individuals, all or almost all of them are portraits and scenes which play with human relations. Noah seems to find his subjects in the discovery of the Other which he observes with a childish glance, with curiosity and greediness.

Clarisse Bouillet Art Critic and Art Historian France

The color palette of Lubin seems to have come to a definite agreement with the painting pattern; the different shades of colors are spread on the canvas with a great technique so as to confirm the effect and to avoid any clashing contrast.
The artist controls his works with effective expressive gestures that aim to make the surface of the canvas different; to make it a place of emotional furies destined to last in time.
