Nio is a multidisciplinary artist (painting, photography, drawing) and caricaturist. His mostly abstract works surprise with their depth and subtlety.

Particularly addressing the themes of collage, abstract sculpture, silhouettes, his work is distinguished by a new light. The silhouettes he creates in his photos are strangely reminiscent of caricatures.

Nio is a Romanian artist living and working in Clichy-sous-bois in France. He began caricature in 1983. He graduated from the Instituth Kamprath, caricature and press cartoon section in Darmstadt, Germany in 1995 and from the Phoenix Institute, advertising design section, in Cluj Napoca, Romania in 2001. He participated in numerous exhibitions including Hypergallery, in collaboration with Hewlett Packard at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris in 2004. He is a founding member of the Association of Romanian Professional Caricaturists, in Macea, Romania.
