The work was performed for an art marathon about famous artists and participated in the exhibition.

Little words about this world-famous artist which I posted for the exhibition and art challenge:

THE TROUBLEMAKER GUSTAVE COURBET and his "Despair".⁣⁣⠀
⁣⁣⠀
Born in France, in 1819, Courbet, whose talent flourished in the Romantic era, made a real revolution in the art world. A rebel who refused to blindly follow the canons of the era and instead of embellished mythological scenes with mannered nymphs, depicted naked reality and people as they really were, without embellishment. ⁣ ⁣ ⠀
⁣ ⁣ ⠀
His paintings, especially " The Origin of the World " have resonated in society for 154 years. The picture was shown to the general public only in 1955, until then carefully hidden due to excessive frankness.⁣⁣⠀
⁣⁣⠀
He influenced the work of Monet, Manet, Renoir and many other artists.⁣⁣⠀
⁣⁣⠀
In 1855, at the World's Fair in Paris, the jury rejected his work with the words "this does not apply to the field of art". In response, Courbet built his own anti-exhibition next to the pavilion, where he showed 40 of his canvases, and still found a way to shock the public. ⁣ ⁣ ⠀
⁣ ⁣ ⠀
Multi-faceted, mysterious, working in several genres at once, persecuted for the glorification of the" ugly", only 200 years later the world discovers this genius and revolutionary. ⁣⁣⠀
Critics said, " He throws the picture in your face! So much so that it is impossible to evade." But Courbet only portrayed the men and women of his time, tired of hard work, the clergy and the bourgeoisie of the 19th century in their sometimes unsightly guise.⁣⁣⠀
⁣⁣⠀
"My realism is the negation of the ideal. Do what you see, what you feel, what you want" - this was the motto of Gustave Courbet

Like many artists, my path to creativity was quite thorny. I was looking for myself in different professions and hobbies, but I didn't stay anywhere for a long time.

In 2019, a spontaneous decision to pick up a brush changed my life forever and added a new meaning to it. Currently, I am working in watercolors, falling in love with it more and more every day and learning oil painting. I prefer the portrait genre, which is not for nothing considered one of the most difficult. To convey not only the similarity, but also the emotions that the person experienced.

I have invested all my love and passion for creativity in absolutely every work that you will find on my page.
