Self-taught painter based in Lyon, Nicole Le Gall owes her artistic training to the various workshops and masterclasses in which she has regularly participated for around ten years.
She mainly paints still lifes, depicting simple everyday objects chosen for their shape, their material, their texture, their color, or their evocative power. Careful observation allows him to determine the abstract shapes of light and shadow which are then placed on the canvas. These spots of color fit together like pieces of a puzzle, revealing a representation that touches us.
The objects represented are less important than their arrangement and the play of light that covers them, because each work is built around a concept of composition or color.
The pictorial language is used to create emotion and make his paintings tell more than just what we see.
