Nathalie Pirotte is a contemporary artist born in the Democratic Republic of Congo and currently residing in Brussels, Belgium. After studying painting at Parsons in New York and earning a Master's degree in painting and 3D research from ENSAV La Cambre in 1989, she pursued a professional career as an artist and painting teacher at the Academy of Fine Arts in Arlon and Marche, Belgium.
Pirotte has exhibited her work extensively in both group and solo shows across Belgium and internationally, including in France, Germany, Luxembourg, Italy, the USA, and Japan. Her representative galleries include Husk Gallery and Emilie Dujat in Brussels, Bertrand Gillig in Strasbourg, Toxic Art in Luxembourg, and B Eck in Munich.
Her artistic journey began with large-scale works on Japanese paper, followed by explorations in environmental art using materials like plaster, wax, oil paintings, and casted skin. She has also painted numerous family and children's portraits.
In 2002, Pirotte shifted focus to painting portraits of masked women, featuring seductive and symbolic bodies adorned with lace, fur, and animal imagery like lionesses and bunnies.
Her work has garnered attention through publications and web features, including Lemon le mag, The Photophore, Eyesee Hue, Artode, The Jealous Curator, Paris Match, and La Libre Culture.
