The centerpiece of this artwork is five nectarines, depicted in their fullest ripeness. Their radiant and juicy hues burst with life, showcasing the vivid palette I used to convey their luscious texture. The background—a multi-colored chessboard interlaced with deep black squares—is equally dynamic, amplifying the contrast and vibrancy of the composition. Together, the nectarines and the background create a harmonious dance of color and form.
The composition is carefully structured to correspond to the number five. I deliberately arranged the fruits to highlight the elegance of simplicity—demonstrating how a seemingly modest numeric scheme can evoke beauty akin to that of a mathematical formula. The symmetry and balance within the composition invite viewers to explore the interplay between art and logic, intuition and structure.
I used my unique technique of painting with oil paints and a palette knife, which allows me to achieve rich colors and such an unusual texture.
Ultimately, "Sweetness of Summer" is more than a celebration of seasonal fruit; it is a meditation on how the ordinary can become extraordinary through the lens of art. The painting invites you to savor the vibrancy of summer and reflect on the quiet beauty hidden in simple forms.

I am an artist from Ukraine. I currently live with my family in Madrid. I have been drawing since childhood. In the city of Donetsk, where I was born, I studied at an art school and a college of fine arts. I received my higher art education in Kharkov at the Kharkov Academy of Design and Arts, specializing in book graphics.
Since I started painting with oil paints, I fell in love with using a palette knife as my main tool. This allows for creating harmonious combinations of pure colors in an impressionistic way. In my works I often strive to combine the impressionism of small strokes with an abstract composition of spots. I am close to cheerful, major intonation in color schemes.
My favorite artists are all the masters of the impressionist era, especially Claude Monet and Vincent Van Gogh, and I also greatly appreciate the work of Paul Klee and Marc Chagall. In my creative quest, I often strive to continue the trends set by these masters of painting.
